Her presentation, “Small Community, BIG Love," addressed the unique aspects and challenges of managing a successful ESL program in a rural school system. Colburn presented with the goal of sharing practical and actionable strategies to meet the needs of multilingual learners and immigrants in rural/small communities. Her passion for helping newcomers, coupled with the generosity of the Marion County, Alabama community, are integral to this program and a testament to the power of working together for success.
