PHS JAG was recognized as Outstanding NCA Chapter and received the Merit Award for its National Service Project and work with Habitat For Humanity. Congratulations!

Phillips High's JAG Chapter donated $200 to the Shoals Habitat for Humanity Chapter. Accepting the donation is Ms. Lisa Parker, Executive Director for that chapter. This donation will aide in the construction of a new home. This project is JAG's National Service Project.

Phillips High - Emma Taylor was recognized as the 2023 Region 7 Class 1A Achievement Award Winner at the Bryant-Jordan Banquet in Birmingham. She received a $3000 scholarship. We are truly honored to have student-athletes such as Emma competing for our schools and communities.

Mrs. Gunter's third grade students at Brilliant School learned about Irish traditions and folklore last week. The STEM project included working in small groups to effectively create a trap to catch the sneaky leprechauns that run amuck on St. Patrick's Day.

The Phillips High School Theatre Group attended a performance of Come From Away at the BJCC as part of the Broadway in Birmingham Series. This makes their 3rd Broadway in Birmingham performance this year: STOMP, Hamilton, and Come From Away. It has all been completely free to the students. Thank you to Chris Farris and Kaylen Peppers for leading this group of kids and providing these opportunities for them. They wrote and received a grant from the American Theatre Guild which made this possible.

National Pi Day on March 14th recognizes the mathematical constant π. Also known as pi, the first three and most recognized digits are 3.14. The day is celebrated by pi enthusiasts and pie lovers alike! (Today is also Albert Einstein's birthday)!
