Isaac Rodrigo Padilla Gurrero of Hamilton Middle School won third place in the Alabama Farm-City Poster Contest for 4th-6th Grade. He was honored at the Alabama Farm-City Awards Luncheon and Program April 7 in Birmingham and received $75 from Alabama Farmers Cooperative (AFC). His school also received $75. The West Alabama Food Bank has requested the following information be shared with our school communities:
The West Alabama Food Bank will be set up at the Winfield First United Methodist Church this Friday, April 1st, beginning at 10:00 that morning. They will have free groceries for 150-175 families, and it will be given out on a first come, first serve basis to needy families in Marion County. If you are in need of food, or if you know someone who is, please make plans to be there.
Huge THANKS to the West AL Food Bank for giving out 180 boxes FULL of groceries today to our Marion County students and families!
Hackleburg High School FCCLA students competed at the state competition in Montgomery March 9-11. Courtney Posey and Anna Lindsey competed in Entrepreneurship level 3 and received a bronze medal. Brody Wood competed in Refurbish and Redesign Level 1 and received a bronze medal. Emma Harper placed second in state in Baking and Pastry and received a silver medal. She will advance on to nationals in San Diego, California this summer.
Marion County High School was well represented at the 2022 State Leadership Conference. Students earned the right to attend based on competition, leadership, and community service.
The MCHS Lady Raiders were recognized at today's Marion County Board of Education meeting for winning the 1A Girls Basketball State Championship! Congratulations!
Phillips Elementary School - Kindergarten Registration - March 18th!!!
Alex Ingram, a dual enrollment student from Marion County High School, who is enrolled in the Automotive program at Bevill, has placed 3rd in the Alabama SkillsUSA North District Automotive Technology contest. He is now eligible to compete in the state contest on April 26th.
March 10th - Marion County hosted its 2022 4-H County Roundup at the Hamilton Rec Center. Each school in the county was represented well, and a great time was had by all! Thanks to all who helped make this day such a success!
