Happy Administrative Professional's Day to our secretary, Ms. Becky!!! She keeps us all straight with the sweetest attitude. We are so blessed to have you with us at HMS.

We are aware of the social media post concerning a threat made to schools in a neighboring county. To our knowledge, there have been no threats made to Marion County Schools. However, our local law enforcement has been made aware of the situation, and our schools will operate on a soft lockdown today only as a precautionary measure.

Don't forget tap lessons tomorrow after school! We just have three more lessons with Alie B.! The dates are Monday, April 24; Monday, May 1; and the final lesson on Monday, May 8 (scheduled lesson on Friday, April 28 has been moved to the 8th). Parents will be invited to attend the final lesson to see what your kiddos have been up to. More information will be sent out soon. Day One Math ACAP is in the bag! Five students from each grade were chosen for their diligence and hard work on today's test.😀 Coach Ballard and Miss Jackson awarded them with a quick trip to the Creamery for a little ice cream this afternoon. High five to these kiddos and to all who worked hard and gave their best today! Thank you to The Creamery and Marketplace for having us. Thank you parents for your help getting students here and on time. We only had 8 absences today! Keep up the great work and remember to limit appointments to after 12:00 this week. Testing Week is here for HMS! Dates for testing are April 18-21. All grades will test each day except for Friday. Friday is testing day for 6th grade and 8th grade Science only. We ask that you limit any outside appointments until after 12:00 each day as students will be in testing each morning. Student tips for this week: remember to get plenty of rest, eat a good breakfast, and come to school ready to do your best each day! Get ready to rock this test. You've got this!

All Marion County Schools will be closed tomorrow (April 7th) for a Weather Day and Monday (April 10th) for a Teacher Work Day. Enjoy your long weekend and stay safe! (School will resume for students on Tuesday, April 11th).
