School Counseling Week

My name is Alana Hawkins, and I am the High School Counselor at Marion County High School. I graduated from MCHS in 2010. I went on to further my education at Northwest Shoals Community College, where I was a cheerleader, ambassador, and SGA president. I then transferred to the University of North Alabama to finish my Bachelor's Degree in Education. I received my Master's Degree in School Counseling from the University of West Alabama. I served as a Marion County Career Coach for 6 1/2 years before moving into a counseling role.

I currently live in my hometown with my husband and my two children. My favorite part about my job is being able to help my students in multiple ways. I love being able to help them solve issues that they may be facing as well as helping them with college and career choices. I love being able to watch all my Raiders grow and become successful in life. Also, the faculty and staff that I work with are like family, and I love being a part of it!
