Beta Club had a great trip to the Alabama State Beta Convention, with lots of exciting accomplishments for us to share!
Several of our members won awards, and Caroline Pyron was elected as the new Alabama State Beta Vice President!
Mrs. Beckon was also selected as the Alabama State Sponsor-elect.
MCHS is proud to have this group of students as leaders in our school!

Conference 2023. These outstanding HOSA students from Marion County High School earned the opportunity to compete at state level this year!
Parents/Guardians…Immunization clinics will be offered on March 21st to all Marion County School students. This is a great time to get your upcoming 6th graders the required TDaP immunization. All students entering 6th grade in Alabama are required to get a booster shot (TDaP). This is also a great time for current 6th graders and above that have not had their TDaP vaccine already to get vaccinated. Other available vaccines are the MCV (meningococcal) and HPV (human papillomavirus). These are optional vaccines. Students not receiving required Alabama vaccines may provide the school with medical or religious exemption forms provided by the Marion County Health Department or their physician's office.
Consent forms will be sent out this week and need to be returned to the school nurse.
National School Breakfast Week celebrates the importance of a nutritious school breakfast in fueling students for success. This special week celebrates the national School Breakfast Program and the many ways it gives students a great start every day.

We are asking fans traveling to the championship game tomorrow to wear white.
Also, there will be a pep rally for the girls tomorrow at 9:40am in the all purpose room. Anyone that would like to attend please check in at the office.

This Friday, March 3rd, will be a Teacher Workday for all Marion County Schools. Students will not come to school on that day.
Marion County Schools invites parents to a meeting concerning the district wellness policy on March 16, 2023, at 3:30 PM. The meeting is to be held at the Marion County Board of Education office, 188 Winchester Drive, Hamilton, AL.
Healthy choices at school help keep our students healthy and ready to learn. The wellness policy helps our schools create an action plan for nutrition and physical activity at school. Parents can share feedback to help ensure the policy is meeting the needs of the students.
For Thursday 3/2 school will dismiss at 12 so everyone can travel to the championship game. The varsity girls will take on Spring Garden at 4pm at the BJCC.
Also Friday 3/3 is a teacher PD day. Students will not be in school Friday.

Students riding the fan bus should be at school no later than 7.
The fan bus is leaving at 7:15. Students riding the bus should report to the all purpose room.
Reminder there will be a send off today at the MCHS at 2pm for the varsity girls. They will be traveling to birmingham today for the AHSAA final four matchup tomorrow vs Elba.

School will be in session on Monday 2/27. Students riding the fan bus must have $12 cash and their permission forms turned in tomorrow.
The fan bus will leave at 7:15am Monday 2/27.
Students not attending the game should report to school at regular time.
MCHS VG basketball will play in the AHSAA final four vs Elba Monday 2/27 at 9am.
We are asking everyone to wear red. Reminder legacy arena has a clear bag policy and no cash is accepted there.
There will be a send off at the gym Sunday 2/26 at 2:00. Fans are encouraged to come and wish the girls off.
MCHS varsity girls basketball will play Tuesday 2/21 at 3pm vs Covenant Christian in the elite eight. The game will be at Wallace State.
Tickets are on GoFan. Please make plans to support the varsity girls.
MCHS will play tomorrow night 2/17 at 6 and 7:30 in the NW regional.
The girls will play at 6 and the boys at 7:30.
Championship games are scheduled for Tuesday 2/21.
The basketball games scheduled for today at Hanceville have been postponed due to weather. We just received word at 8:15am.
As soon as the brackets are updated we will let everyone know.

MCHS will host the area tournament next week for the varsity girls and the varsity boys. All tickets are on GoFan for the tournament. The varsity girls will play Lynn Monday at 5pm. The varsity boys will play Brilliant Tuesday at 5pm.
Championship games are scheduled for Friday 2/10.
