We look forward to having our BEARS back in class!

Just a reminder that all students entering 6th grade are required to have an up-to-date immunization record on file. Sixth grade students will need the TDaP booster. Please call your physician, health department, or pharmacy for assistance.

Great news for the coming school year!!! Marion County Schools will participate in the Community Eligibility Program. The CEP program is a PILOT program for the 23-24 school year that allows all enrolled students to eat breakfast and lunch at no cost!
CEP is based on the overall economic status of our regional area. NO free or reduced applications will be needed from parents this school year. No action is required by parents for students to eat free. Please note the first complete meal is free, however extra plates or items must be purchased. All visiting children, adults, and employees will be required to pay for meals. www.paypams.com is still available for anyone that wishes to add money to his or her child(ren)'s accounts. This institution is an equal opportunity provider.

Just a reminder that last Thursday was the last day of our after school program for this school year. Students will need to resume their normal afternoon schedules (bus riders or car riders). Keep a look out for letters being sent home about our summer reading/math program for eligible students.

We are aware of the social media post concerning a threat made to schools in a neighboring county. To our knowledge, there have been no threats made to Marion County Schools. However, our local law enforcement has been made aware of the situation, and our schools will operate on a soft lockdown today only as a precautionary measure.

PES is having a wonderful day of learning! We just wanted to inform parents that we are doing our end of the year practice of our safety lockdown procedures. All is well at PES. Go Bears!

All Marion County Schools will be closed tomorrow (April 7th) for a Weather Day and Monday (April 10th) for a Teacher Work Day. Enjoy your long weekend and stay safe! (School will resume for students on Tuesday, April 11th).

Class pictures will be made tomorrow for the yearbook. Retakes for spring pictures and retakes for cap and gown pictures (grades K and 6th) will also be made tomorrow for those that missed them the first time they were made.

All Marion County Schools will be closed for Spring Break March 27-31, 2023. School will resume on Monday, April 3rd. Have fun and stay safe!

Parents/Guardians…Immunization clinics will be offered on March 21st to all Marion County School students. This is a great time to get your upcoming 6th graders the required TDaP immunization. All students entering 6th grade in Alabama are required to get a booster shot (TDaP). This is also a great time for current 6th graders and above that have not had their TDaP vaccine already to get vaccinated. Other available vaccines are the MCV (meningococcal) and HPV (human papillomavirus). These are optional vaccines. Students not receiving required Alabama vaccines may provide the school with medical or religious exemption forms provided by the Marion County Health Department or their physician's office.
Consent forms will be sent out this week and need to be returned to the school nurse.

National School Breakfast Week celebrates the importance of a nutritious school breakfast in fueling students for success. This special week celebrates the national School Breakfast Program and the many ways it gives students a great start every day.

It is almost time for Kindergarten Registration! (Please see the flyer for more information).

This Friday, March 3rd, will be a Teacher Workday for all Marion County Schools. Students will not come to school on that day.
