More Seuss week fun!
Seuss week also brought some data collecting fun in pre-k, kindergarten, and Mrs. Misner's first grade. 📚

That's a wrap on Read Across America Week! Thank you to our wonderful librarian, Mrs. Hill, for decorating and scheduling some great readers. 📚

Tomorrow, Friday, March 6, our high school baseball team will be hosting the county tournament starting at 2. Other schools will be on campus and parking around the baseball field which may interfere with dismissal traffic. Due to this, we are asking that no cars line up in the pickup line before 2:45. If you are in line before that time, you will be asked to continue circling until 2:45. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your help in keeping our students safe. Thank you!

We have enjoyed the first 2 days of Dr. Seuss week with hat day and pajama day! Our students have enjoyed some wonderful guest readers so far. We look forward to sharing more with you throughout the week! 📚 ❤️

6th graders interested in trying out for cheerleader for the upcoming season, please see the flyer below. 📣 🐻

Mrs. Rusk's students are working hard on their iReady pathways! Once students in her class pass a lesson with a 100, they can choose a spot to color in on their incentive poster; if the class makes it to the end of February with the poster completely colored in, they will receive a special snack to celebrate!
Also pictured are Remington for passing the most iReady math lessons and Callie for passing the most iReady reading lessons. Way to go!

We are so incredibly grateful for our newly formed Sunshine Committee and the joy they are already spreading across our campus! ☀️
Thank you for purchasing a brand-new faculty and staff shirt for each of our team members. What a thoughtful and generous way to build unity and show appreciation for our amazing faculty and staff. These shirts are more than just apparel — they represent teamwork, positivity, and the strong sense of community we share.
We appreciate the time, effort, and heart you are pouring into making our school an even brighter place.
Thank you, Sunshine Committee, for helping our school SHINE! ✨

Mr. Tuck was happy to celebrate the February Character Education winners today!

Seuss week information! 📕

We are gearing up for Alabama Sun Bucks, preloaded cards with a one-time benefit for summer, and need your help to ensure student information is up-to-date. Parents who have changed their address since registration need to contact their child's school and update their address in PowerSchool by February 28th. Keeping records current will help us serve families more efficiently and make sure children have access to nutritious meals. Thank you!

During today’s Board of Education meeting, our school counselors were proudly recognized for their dedication and service to our district. This group plays an essential role in supporting students’ academic achievement, social-emotional growth, and college and career readiness. They wear many hats each day—advocate, mentor, problem-solver, encourager, and leader—often working behind the scenes to ensure every student has the support needed to succeed. We are deeply grateful for their unwavering commitment, compassion, and service to our students and schools. Thank you to our outstanding school counselors for the difference you make every single day! Pictured with our Superintendent, Board Members, and Counseling Supervisor Kevin Dulaney, are (left to right): Julie Kladke-HHS, Erica Salter-HES, Monica Allen-PHS, Jonathan Tuck-PES, Lisa McCaleb-BES & BHS, Jessica Scott-GES, Alana Hawkins-MCHS, Halie Hagood-HCES, Raven Wilburn-HCHS, and Allyson Frederick-HMS.

Showcasing the 5th graders that won the spelling challenge by understanding how to use meanings of Greek and Latin roots and suffixes to change words parts into the correct spelling of words then chose the correct words for sentence context.
These students worked in groups and won their spelling trophies as a group for the week! 🏆

Kindergarten registration is coming up soon! 📚 🐻
