The Hackleburg FFA Coat and Hoodie Drive was a great success. On Thursday, 68 Hackleburg Elementary School and Hackleburg High School students received a new coat and a hoodie. Thanks to everyone who donated coats to this event including the FFA members, parents, faculty, and community members. You have truly been a blessing to our students. Also, thanks to the officer team for planning and executing this event. They are doing great things!
There are three Special Education Aide positions open (Hamilton Elem., Hackleburg Elem., and Hackleburg High) as well as one Special Education Teacher position open (Hackleburg Elem.). Hackleburg FFA President Blaine McDuffa and Vice President Ana Kathrine Whisnant are representing Marion County and the ALFA Youth Leadership Conference at the Alabama 4-H Center in Columbiana. Only 96 students from the entire state were chosen to attend this two day event that is sponsored by the Alabama Farmers Federation. Congratulations Blaine and AK!
Hackleburg High School FCCLA had a great time at the FCCLA National Fall Conference in Ohio this past weekend. Ana Kathrine Whisnant was the only person to compete from Alabama and she took 1st place in the nation in Impromptu Speaking Level 2. We’re so proud of her and all the officers of the Hackleburg FCCLA.

A message from our Marion County Extension Office & West Alabama Food Bank partners:
There will be a food distribution in front of Hackleburg Elementary and Hackleburg High School tomorrow, Tuesday, November 8th. You do not have to prequalify to receive this food.
-Food distribution is scheduled for 9am-11am, but will end once the 175 boxes are distributed.
-Please do not line up before 9am, so we do not disrupt school traffic. When you are in line, please put your car in park and turn off your ignition.
-When you line up, please open your trunk and stay in your vehicle. Please make sure there is room in your trunk for the food you will be picking up. If your trunk will not open, please make sure you do not have an animal in the vehicle when it is loaded.
-Please be patient with everyone working the food distribution. They are all volunteers.
-Please do not smoke or vape in the food distribution line.
-If you have an animal in your vehicle, please make sure to keep them in the back seat or side seat as you come through the line.
-This is a great opportunity to address Food Insecurity in our area. Please be mindful of everyone involved. We are blessed to have this opportunity.
November is “Thank Alabama Teachers Month”. They are more than just teachers. They serve as coaches, mentors, and friends. They deserve recognition and thanks! So this month, give your thanks to the special teachers in your life. It doesn’t matter if you leave a note, a gift, a shout out on social media, or simply say thank you. There’s no wrong way to thank a teacher for everything they have done.
The HHS Veteran’s Day Program will be held next Wednesday, November 9th at 9:00 a.m. in the high school gym.
We invite our veterans to join us as we honor you for your service.
High school students are allowed to wear costumes to school tomorrow. Costumes must be school appropriate and meet dress code. No masks will be allowed.
We appreciate these K-9 units from Franklin and Marion County Sheriffs’ offices for conducting a search of the Hackleburg Schools today. These are important partnerships in keeping our schools safe!

As of now we will still have the Fall Festival from 5-8 pm. We are monitoring the weather, and if the timeline changes we will adjust accordingly. Students that are working a booth will be allowed in the gym at 4:45 pm. We will update as needed through social media and text.
Due to the threat of severe weather, all Marion County Schools will dismiss today (October 25th, 2022) at 11:00 a.m. Stay safe, everyone!
Nurse Heidi Scott will host a free flu shot clinic for our students. Only those students with a completed consent form will receive the flu shot.
