Hamilton High School - Good luck to the 31 students representing Hamilton HOSA at the Alabama State Leadership Conference this week.

This Friday, March 3rd, will be a Teacher Workday for all Marion County Schools. Students will not come to school on that day.

Marion County Schools invites parents to a meeting concerning the district wellness policy on March 16, 2023, at 3:30 PM. The meeting is to be held at the Marion County Board of Education office, 188 Winchester Drive, Hamilton, AL. Healthy choices at school help keep our students healthy and ready to learn. The wellness policy helps our schools create an action plan for nutrition and physical activity at school. Parents can share feedback to help ensure the policy is meeting the needs of the students.

FFA Week: Hackleburg and Hamilton High School’s FFA officers did an excellent job speaking before the Marion County Board of Education today. Each shared information about FFA and the many projects they have completed. We are proud of these young ladies and young men!

We plan to partner with the Career Center, local/surrounding business and industry, and Bevill State. Our local high schools will be bringing their senior class that want to come, or offer the opportunity to attend to just the students that still don't have a "plan" after graduation and are looking to go straight to the workforce, or possibly enroll in a local community college and need a part-time job. Hamilton High’s Career Tech Departments collected over 300 stuffed animals that were distributed to our local emergency services. Representatives from Marion County Sheriff’s Dept., Hamilton Fire Dept., Hamilton Police Dept., and Marion County EMS picked these up this week. These will be used to assist these services with children. We appreciate what you do!

Mr. Rogers’ 3B class is learning about the French Revolution, unfair taxation, and the Three Estates. Clearly, It’s good to be in the First Estate and perhaps not so good to live in the Third Estate.

On Wednesday, November 9th, Mrs. Fikes' Senior English classes dressed up as characters from Chaucer's Canterbury Tales and walked the Hamilton High School halls while reciting the Prologue.

Hamilton High Health Science/HOSA- Dalton Frederick, Hamilton alumni, came and spoke to Mrs. Humphres’ classes about how to become a Family Physician & important college/resume tips. They really enjoyed learning how to suture from him.  Dalton is a 3rd year med student at UAB.

Marion County Schools are proud of our very own Ann West for being named District 7 Superintendent of the Year, and she is a finalist for Alabama Superintendent of the Year. We appreciate the leadership of Mrs. West and how she represents Marion County on the district and state level.

September is Attendance Awareness Month. Starting September 7th, students who have perfect attendance (no checkouts, tardies, or absences) from 9/7 through 9/30 will be entered into a drawing at each school to win $100!!!

All Marion County Schools will be closed this Monday, September 5th, 2022. Have a safe and fun Labor Day weekend!
